OBJECTIVES:

  1. To enhance knowledge on high-impact science policy and governance.
  2. To interact with a towering person in science.

The invited speaker for this programme was Academician Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Datuk Dr Omar Abdul Rahman, who shared about “STI for Socio-Economic Transformation: Policy & Governance Considerations.”

Tan Sri discussed the overarching national aspirations, the progress on the national policy, which included science for policy and policy for science, the ASM Science Outlook review, the six components of STI policy, total national capacity in STI, governance, human resources, and technology enablers.

After the public keynote presentation, a closed engagement session with YSN was held.
